Jadon Sancho’s feelings about the possibility of returning to Manchester United have been revealed following his significant contribution to Borussia Dortmund’s recent Champions League success.
Sancho, currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund, played a key role in helping the Bundesliga team advance to the semi-finals of the Champions League. Despite trailing 2-0 on the night, Dortmund turned the tables with goals from Niclas Fullkrug and Marcel Sabitzer, securing a remarkable victory at Signal Iduna Park.
This victory could potentially have negative implications for Manchester United, as Germany is now more likely to secure an additional Champions League qualification spot compared to Italy and England for the upcoming season’s revamped competition.
Despite experiencing a challenging time under Erik ten Hag at United, Sancho has been enjoying his football back at Signal Iduna Park. However, recent reports suggest that he remains open to the idea of “starting again” and returning to Manchester United, as indicated by Pete Hall from the i Paper.
The pressure on Ten Hag continues to mount, with reports suggesting an “irreparable” relationship between him and Sancho. With United’s poor results leading to a decline in the standings, there is speculation that new shareholders INEOS may consider dismissing Ten Hag. It’s suggested that Sancho’s return to United would only be possible if Ten Hag is no longer in charge.
Jason Wilcox, United’s incoming technical director, who previously coached Sancho during his time in the Manchester City youth setup, is reportedly willing to give the 24-year-old another chance. However, United would prefer to cash in on Sancho, although it’s unlikely they will be able to recoup anywhere near the £73 million they paid for him back in 2021.
