Erik ten Hag was full of praise for three Manchester United stars following their Emirates FA Cup quarter-final victory over Liverpool.


The United boss saw his team progress to the semi-final at Wembley following the dramatic 4-3 victory in which Amad Diallo scored the winning goal in the final minute of extra-timIt was one of the most iconic derby games between the two sides in recent memory, and United had many impressive performances throughout.“For me, the first 30-35 minutes were the best of our season,” Ten Hag told ITV1. “But then gaps come up between the lines, and you can’t allow this against Liverpool; they are such a very good team.


“But then we had to change, we went into risk and one against one and the players did wonderful. The mentality and attitude was great.”


Ten Hag’s men, playing against Coventry City in the semi-final next month, have a real chance of reaching back-to-back FA Cup finDespite the struggles this season, Ten Hag is convinced that the young core of the team is something to build on for the future.


“I have said for many weeks that we have a team for the future. It’s very good. Players are coming up and progressing very good,” he added.


“Like Dalot, Kobbie [Mainoo] again today, Garnacho again today. I could mention more players who did a fantastic job and you can see the potential.”als.e.
