Dave Brailsford was approached by a young Manchester United fan inquiring about the possibility of signing Kylian Mbappe. Following weeks of speculation, reports emerged on Thursday afternoon indicating that Mbappe had reached a decision regarding his future at Paris Saint-Germain.

As per The Athletic, the 25-year-old has reportedly informed the club of his intention to depart at the conclusion of the 2023/24 season. In light of this development, a video has surfaced showing the young United supporter asking INEOS director of sport Brailsford about signing Mbappe.

In the video, the fan queried, “Can we buy Mbappe?” Brailsford responded with a smile, suggesting that the Frenchman appears to be ‘set on going to Real Madrid’.Mbappe’s future has been the subject of intense speculation in recent years. In 2022, he famously made a last-minute decision to reject a move to Madrid and instead signed a new contract with PSG.Recent reports had linked Liverpool as a potential destination for Mbappe.

However, The Independent revealed that despite Mbappe’s team reaching out to Liverpool regarding a transfer, the Anfield club opted not to make an offer due to concerns over the player’s salary exceeding their wage structure.

Last summer, PSG reportedly received a substantial bid of £259 million for Mbappe from Saudi Professional League club Al Hilal, which he turned down.

Now, it appears that Madrid has a clear path to securing Mbappe’s signature. According to the Daily Mail, Los Blancos are prepared to make Mbappe the highest-paid player at the club, along with a significant signing-on fee.

Should the move to Madrid materialize, Mbappe is expected to inherit the number 10 shirt from Luka Modric, who is set to depart in the summer.
