Erik ten Hag pushing to complete next two signings after reaching a contract with Rasmus Hojlund

Rasmus Hojlund of Atalanta will join Manchester United for £72 million.

After reaching a £72 million agreement with Atalanta for Rasmus Hojlund, it is now believed that Manchester United will concentrate its efforts on the acquisitions of a defensive midfielder and a center back. The 20-year-old Danish frontman is expected to arrive at Old Trafford soon, but the Red Devils’ work on the transfer market may not be finished just yet.

With the addition of Hojlund, Mason Mount, and Andre Onana, United’s summer spending will total £179 million.
Fabrizio Romano claims that now that a contract for Hojlund has been reached, United’s management will start putting together a new holding midfielder and center back.

Given that United has only made £22 million so far this season from player exits, there is a strong possibility that both will be entirely dependent on player sales.

Numerous celebrities are rumored to be up for grabs, including Fred, Harry Maguire, Dean Henderson, Donny van de Beek, and Anthony Martial.

And should United come up with the cash, Sofyan Amrabat, the pivotal player for Fiorentina, is the target.

However, in Italy, where there are rumors that a deal may be close, United’s interest in the player has been slightly overblown.

Following Kobbie Mainoo’s ankle injury, it is anticipated that United’s desire to pursue Amrabat will grow stronger.

The Morocco international is available for around £25m-£30m with United currently the only club actively in the race for his signature.

At the back, a new arrival will hinge on the departure of Maguire who still looks to be no closer to the exit door.

West Ham have seen a £20m bid rebuffed for the England international centre-back but he could now remain at United as they’re yet to receive a worthwhile offer.

To add to that, United’s top two defensive targets have now agreed deals to join other clubs meaning they would have to go back to the drawing board if they did want to strengthen in that department.

Kim Min-jae has joined Bayern Munich from Napoli while Axel Disasi is on his way to Chelsea in a £38m switch.

There could be some progress on outgoings this week with Galatasaray pushing in talks to sign Fred.

Fred is expected to depart on a permanent transfer and other clubs are also interested with Lazio and Fulham among those linked.

Donny van de Beek is also being eyed by Real Sociedad after three underwhelming seasons at Old Trafford.

Talks are also advancing between United and Nottingham Forest over the departure of Dean Henderson who looks set to join the Tricky Trees on another loan with a view to making it permanent.
