Manchester United told to offload Jadon Sancho and replace him with surprise Premier League star.

Man United winger Sancho has struggled to live up to expectations since his move from Borussia Dortmund almost two years ago.

Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker believes the club should offload Jadon Sancho this summer and attempt to draft in Brighton & Hove Albion ace Kaoru Mitoma.

The Seagulls star, who spent last season on loan at Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise, has been one of the surprise stars of the Premier League season this term, producing a series of eye-catching performances. He has scored nine goals and grabbed six assists in all competitions, meaning he is being closely linked with a collection of big-name clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

Mitoma, who will turn 26 in May, has scored five goals and registered three assists in his last 10 Premier League appearances, highlighting the impressive level of form he currently finds himself in. He has made the left-wing his own at the Amex Stadium and looks a threat every time he gets on the ball.

Meanwhile, Sancho has struggled to nail down a place in Erik ten Hag’s strongest XI this season, meaning he will be determined to kick on next term and finally justify his £72.9million price tag. However, former Reds defender Parker, who played for the club between 1991 and 1996, believes the club should try and sell him this summer and turn to Mitoma as a replacement.

“Mitoma gave Trent-Alexander Arnold a very bad time but, to be fair, a lot of people have done that,” Parker told MyBettingSites. “I really like him. He is very direct and he wants to go on the outside of his opponent, which is a rarity in today’s football. No defender wants that and he is very good at that.

“Mitoma would also be a very good PR signing. To see a Japanese player at United would be a huge story.

“I would love to see him at United but then they have to offload some of their wingers and they could start with getting rid of Jadon Sancho. I would rather have Mitoma in the squad than him.

“He has proven himself in the Premier League and I doubt that Sancho will ever do that. I think he should go back to Germany and play in his comfort zone where he is best.

“But if he [Mitoma] comes to the club, United need to figure out what to do with Marcus Rashford, who is best at left-wing. But that’s a luxury problem to have two good wingers.”
