“Casemiro and Amrabat are not in our plans. We want players who are consistent and youngstars who are ready to win trophies. He is the best player in Portuguese League last season and he worth the price”- ‘Tenacious’ star becomes new No 1 Man Utd target as Ratcliffe plans to splash £30m on the amazing youngster.

Manchester United and INEOS Chief Jim Ratcliffe Shifts Transfer Focus to Morten Hjulmand

Manchester United and INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe has adjusted his transfer targets to enhance the club’s midfield, now reportedly setting his sights on Morten Hjulmand.

Hjulmand, a 24-year-old defensive midfielder, is versatile enough to play as a No. 8 or No. 10. His career began in the Copenhagen academy, followed by stints at Admira Wacker in Austria and Lecce in Italy.

#### Rise to Prominence

Hjulmand became a key player and captain at Lecce. Last summer, he advanced his career by joining Sporting Lisbon for €19.5 million. In his debut season in Portugal, he made 49 appearances, helping Ruben Amorim’s side win the league and reach the Portuguese Cup final.

#### Potential Move to Manchester United

Despite his success at Sporting, Hjulmand’s future could lie elsewhere. Initially linked with Liverpool, his transfer to Manchester United has now become a strong possibility. United’s recruitment team admires the Dane, and according to GiveMeSport, he has surged to the top of Ratcliffe’s priority list for strengthening the midfield.

Ratcliffe views Hjulmand as a crucial signing and may initiate talks with Sporting to finalize a deal. Despite having a long-term contract running for another four years, Sporting might be persuaded to sell for £69 million, offering a substantial profit over their initial investment.

#### Comparison with Joao Neves

Although £69 million is a significant fee for a player without Premier League experience, it is seen as a more sensible option than pursuing Joao Neves from Benfica. Neves, at 19, has immense potential but comes with a £102 million release clause, which carries considerable risk.

Hjulmand, being five years older and already demonstrating leadership qualities, is considered a better fit for United’s immediate needs. His lower cost and proven track record have made him a more attractive option for Ratcliffe.

#### Current Midfield Concerns

United’s current defensive midfielder, Casemiro, has had a challenging season. With speculation about his future, including a possible move to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr, securing a replacement like Hjulmand has become even more crucial for Manchester United.
