Jadon Sancho has released a statement on social media following Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League final defeat, hinting at his future with Manchester United.
Sancho returned to Dortmund on loan during the January transfer window after being banished from the Man United first team by Erik ten Hag following a public dispute. During his loan, Sancho made 21 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals and shining in the Champions League.
He had a standout performance against Paris Saint-Germain, helping Dortmund reach the final. However, they fell short, losing 2-0 to Real Madrid at Wembley Stadium. Sancho started in the final but couldn’t lead his team to victory.
A few days after the defeat, the 24-year-old thanked Dortmund, manager Edin Terzic, and the club’s chiefs in what appears to be a farewell message, seemingly ruling out a permanent move back to Germany.
“What a crazy 6 months,” he wrote on X. “We win together we lose together, these moments only make us stronger! I’m so grateful to be a part of such an amazing group of players!
“I want to congratulate Real Madrid on winning the Champions League. We came up short on the night, but we should be super proud of ourselves. We are a family and these moments won’t break us! Thank you to everybody who came out to support us on such a special day!

Sancho is set to return to Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window reopening. There is speculation about his future at the club, especially regarding his relationship with Erik ten Hag. Despite leading Manchester United to FA Cup glory against Manchester City, ten Hag’s position has been under intense scrutiny. Sancho is reportedly ready to play for the Red Devils, but only if Erik ten Hag leaves.
