Jadon Sancho addressed questions about his future at Manchester United following his standout performance, earning the Man of the Match award for Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League semi-final.

 

Sancho, aged 24, showcased his brilliance on Wednesday night as Dortmund secured a 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the semi-final clash.

 

The United loanee dazzled with 12 successful take-ons, the highest tally recorded at that stage of the competition in the last eight years. Additionally, he crafted three chances, including a notable opportunity for striker Niclas Füllkrug with a well-executed reverse pass behind the PSG defense.

 

Despite his outstanding displays, Sancho’s future at Old Trafford remains uncertain. Currently on loan at the Bundesliga club until the season’s end, Dortmund expresses interest in retaining him beyond his loan spell. Given his stellar performances, Sancho is likely to attract interest from other clubs in the upcoming summer transfer window.

 

Speaking to CBS after the game, Sancho expressed gratitude for the opportunity Dortmund provided him at a young age, stating, “Obviously I came here at 17 and they gave me the opportunity for me to play my professional football. When questioned by former United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel about his future, Sancho remained noncommittal, stating, “Who me? I really don’t know, but I’m just focused on the present right now.”

 

Sancho and Dortmund will travel to France for the second leg of the Champions League semi-final on 7 May.
