“He came out just the way Ronaldo did. We never knew he will be this good”-Man Utd coaches think they’ve already unearthed the ‘next Cristiano Ronaldo’ who won’t cost them a penny

Manchester United reportedly believe they possess the next Cristiano Ronaldo within their ranks.

Following Ronaldo’s departure from the club in December 2022, where he left for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, there have been assertions that United have identified a potential successor.

Alejandro Garnacho, who has expressed admiration for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner and even emulated his celebrations, is being touted as a viable replacement. The Argentine, who arrived from Atletico Madrid in January 2020, experienced a breakthrough season under Erik ten Hag and has emerged as one of United’s top performers this season, netting seven goals across all competitions.

During a recent episode of the Footballer’s Football Podcast featuring Michail Antonio and Tom Cairney, host Rickie Haywood-Williams shared intriguing insights about Garnacho’s potential. He mentioned rumblings from Old Trafford suggesting that Garnacho has the capacity to reach Ronaldo’s level.

However, despite Garnacho’s admiration for Ronaldo, there have been instances where the young winger’s idolization has faced scrutiny. While Ten Hag has urged Garnacho to focus on his own development, former United winger Angel Di Maria cautioned him against impersonating Ronaldo.

Yet, Garnacho’s recent comment during a chat with a United fan added a humorous twist to his idolization of Ronaldo. When asked about his favorite footballer ever, Garnacho jokingly replied “Messi,” prompting the fan to jest about Ronaldo’s potential reaction. Garnacho took the light-hearted banter in stride, showcasing his affinity for both Ronaldo and Messi.
