Manchester United could finally land a long-time target for just €12 million but they must act fast.Paulo Dybala has regularly been linked with a slew of Premier League sides, including the likes of United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs.Most of the interest was registered when Dybala was at Juventus, where he scored 115 goals in 293 appearances.He signed for Roma on a free transfer in 2022, penning a three-year contract.
But the Argentine’s deal is believed to contain a dirt-cheap €12 million release clause, which could represent a bargain transfer for a World Cup-winning forward.According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the clause became active on January 1 but it only lasts for a 14-day period.That means at the time of writing, there are just 10 days for clubs to trigger the clause.
In the event that it not activated, it will resurface again on July 1 until July 31 during the summer transfer window.The situation is particularly interesting as while the clause applies to any clubs, there are some permutations.If a club playing outside of Italy trigger the clause then the decision lies with Dybala, while Roma have all the power if one of their rivals activate the buy-out.
Dybala has scored 23 times in 54 games for Roma, including five goals so far this season.Roberto Pruzzo, Roma’s second highest ever scorer, rates Dybala incredibly highly and described him as a “real gem” for his contributions.“Despite being superior technically compared to everyone else he is humble, makes himself available, he gets busy and works hard
