Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has been unavailable since he picked up an injury during the summer pre-season tour.Amad, 21, suffered a major setback against Arsenal in the United States and it came at possibly the worst time for the youngster.With both Antony and Jadon Sancho having extended periods out of the team, the chance for game-time on the right wing at United would’ve certainly been there for Amad if he was fit.
Now though, there is still much of the season ahead and the wideman will be hoping to remain at the club past the January window and fight for a place in the position.
Latest news from social media account Insider United – who have previously been ‘closely monitored’ by the club due to the accurate information on injuries they have posted – suggests that the Ivorian could return soon.The account stated that Amad’s rehab and training are going well and that he should be able to join the first-team training full-time in the next couple of weeks.That makes a return on the pitch towards the end of December possible for Amad.
The 21-year-old excelled in the Championship on loan at Sunderland last season and it appeared that he was ready to fight for a place in Erik ten Hag’s squad this term.He will certainly be aiming to break into the side and will be seeing the impact youngster Kobbie Mainoo is making at the moment as motivation for himself.Mainoo is set to start for The Reds against Newcastle on the weekend after two positive performances against Everton and Galatasaray.
