Ten Hag in dreamland as Man Utd signing ‘agreed’ and selling club line up Liverpool target as replacement

A Man Utd target is ready to fly to Manchester and complete his move as soon as the summer transfer window opens, and a report has claimed a Liverpool target will be his successor.

The future of Napoli centre-half, Kim Min-jae, is reportedly set to be determined early next month. The South Korea international, 26, has been a veritable colossus in Napoli’s Serie A winning side this season.

Kim is understood to have been courted by Man Utd dating back to his days in the Chinese Super League. Moves to Fenerbahce and Napoli followed, though his next stop looks likely to be Old Trafford.

Indeed, Italian outlet Il Matino recently reported a deal to bring Kim to Man Utd is ‘practically done’ and will be go through ‘regardless of Napoli’s will’.

They also claimed Kim has agreed a deal with United worth €9m a season – around £150,000 a week.

Kim’s current contract contains a release clause that activates on July 1 and remains valid until July 15. Fabrizio Romano reported the clause is worth a touch under €50m (approx. £43m).

However, with the Premier League’s summer transfer window due to officially open on June 14, the Sun claimed Man Utd aim to act in advance and wrap up a deal early.

One complication comes in the form of military service Kim will be called upon to serve for a three-week period in June and July.

However, according to the latest print edition of Corriere dello Sport, a move for Kim will go through.

Via Man Utd News, it’s revealed the dominant centre-half ‘is ready to secure a move to Manchester United when the window opens’.

Corriere added Kim is ‘preparing to fly to Manchester’ to complete his move and undergo a medical as soon as the window opens. Presumably, that will come before he returns to South Korea to complete his basic training in the armed forces.

The report adds Kim’s move will also come with the added bonus of Napoli then depriving Liverpool of a key transfer target.

The player Napoli aim to replace Kim with is Atalanta’s Giorgio Scalvini. The talented 19-year-old is wanted by Liverpool as the long-term successor to Joel Matip, according to Calciomercato.

However, it’ll be Napoli who have the greater immediate need for a new centre-half also they’ll also have funds to spare if and when Kim moves to Man Utd.
