Manchester United players pictured arriving at training after Liverpool embarrassment

The Man United squad have arrived at Carrington on Monday morning following their 7-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

Manchester United’s beleaguered squad have arrived at Carrington on Monday morning following their humiliating 7-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday. It was a disastrous display for Erik ten Hag’s side, who actually started the match reasonably well in the first half and were unfortunate to see themselves behind at the break following Cody Gakpo’s opener. Just moments before Casemiro had a goal chalked off for off-side.

But the second 45 might go down as one of the worst in Premier League history as United conceded twice within five minutes and completely lost their heads. Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah all got two goals apiece before Roberto Firmino grabbed the seventh to compound a shellshocked United’s misery.

All United players reported to training at 9am, while Erik ten Hag was already onsite for two hours before the squad arrived. United sources say the players were always scheduled to report at 9am at Carrington for recovery sessions and a morning training session. But the post-mortem following the result will no doubt be held today and throughout the week ahead of the Europa League last 16 first leg with Real Betis on Thursday. United then face Southampton at Old Trafford in the Premier League fixture on Sunday.
