Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a move for Palmeiras defender Vitor Reis, a target also being monitored by Real Madrid, as part of their January transfer plans under Mikel Arteta. According to reliable sources, a member of the current squad, Jakub Kiwior, is expected to depart in the winter window, opening up the need for defensive reinforcements.
Arsenal’s technical director Edu Gaspar and manager Arteta have successfully reshaped the squad over the past few seasons, turning the team into genuine title contenders. Despite narrowly missing out on silverware, Arsenal’s impressive start to this campaign, remaining unbeaten across all competitions, is a testament to their progress.
Arteta has reportedly set a target of over 90 points for the 2024/25 season, and with Manchester City’s recent loss of star midfielder Rodri, Arsenal may sense an opportunity to overtake their rivals in the race for the Premier League title. While City set a high bar, Arsenal’s tally of 89 points last season would have been enough to secure the league in many previous campaigns.
