According to the Metro, while Varane is open to continuing at United, the club want him to agree to a new contract on terms lower than his £350,000-a-week wages.In turn, Varane looks set to leave United at the end of the season on a free transfer.And as per the Daily Star, the removal of a transfer fee could see Varane earn even more than his United wage should he accept a move to Saudi Arabia.

Indeed, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr could allegedly offer the 2018 World Cup winner wages of £50million-a-year.

Ronaldo and Varane were teammates for nearly a decade at Real Madrid, while they spent 18 months at Old Trafford together.The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s pioneering move to Saudi Arabia in January 2023 helped attract several other stars to the burgeoning league the following summer, including Sadio Mane and Aymeric Laporte, also of Al Nassr.

Meanwhile, United hope to sign at least one centre-back in the summer, with Jean-Clair Todibo and Jarrod Brainthwaite both said to be on their wishlist.
