“I loved this…it shows how good they will be together. Just like Ronaldo and Tevez” – Roy Keane praises two Man United players after Spurs 2-2 draw

It was Spurs dominance, but former club captain Roy Keane highlighted Højlund and Rashford as positives when they combined for the second United goal

Roy Keane praised two Manchester United players despite the disappointing overall performance as they drew 2-2 against Tottenham Hotspur. The Reds went 2-1 up going into the half-time break after clinical finishes from Rasmus Højlund and Marcus Rashford. However, a goal conceded just 50 seconds after the start of the second half was a sucker punch and United rarely created after that

Rashford played a quick one-two with Højlund before slotting the ball in the bottom corner, and it was exactly what Keane wanted from the English international.“It was beautiful, a really good goal. This is what you want to see from Rashford,” he told Sky Sports.“United winning the ball high up the pitch, pass it forward quickly, not overthinking it.

“Marcus here gets in this wide position, and I don’t know why more players don’t try one-twos anymore, it seems to be gone out of the game.“Lovely quick play. It was Marcus at his best, and I loved this; it was so simple but done quickly in the attacking third. We need to see more of it.”

The pairing looked clinical in those moments, but the main problem came with United’s minimal control in the game.Kobbie Mainoo was often left alone in the midfield. Christian Eriksen was poor in the first half and then Scott McTominay was more advanced in the second half.

United moved up to seventh in the Premier League but could be overtaken by clubs with games in hand
