Bruno Fernandes reveals Manchester United dressing room reaction to Arsenal defeat

Sunday’s game between Man United and Arsenal ended in a 3-1 loss for Arsenal, and Fernandes came out to discuss the outcome.

But just over 30 seconds after that breakthrough, Arsenal struck back and equalised through Martin Odegaard.

The truth behind Erik ten Hag’s Jonny Evans situation

The game was level at the break and both sides looked for a matchwinner in the closing stages, which Alejandro Garnacho thought he had produced in the last minute of normal time when scoring on the counter-attack.

Garnacho believed his goal had sealed the victory, but VAR intervened and declared the goal invalid due to offside. That was a painful blow, and to make matters worse, Declan Rice’s goal for Arsenal in extra time made the score 2-1.

Gabriel Jesus then increased the score to 3-1 at the very end when United sent men forward in search of a tying goal. After the final horn, Fernandes came out of the locker room and commented on the late drama.

“Losing the way we did is never easy. After attempting to get a draw, we gave up the late goal, Fernandes told Sky Sports. They were a good team and caused us a lot of trouble. Although it was a good game for both teams, they ultimately won.

“I believed the game to be fair. Although we wanted them to have those spells because we could pose a threat on the counters, they already had some spells on the ball.

“If it’s an offside, we can’t get on it. It is what it is. Although I am unhappy in the outcome, I thought the game was terrific and the squad played with a lot of heart. We will see results if we continue to act in this manner.

“It’s 11 v 11, and where we play makes no difference. We played pretty well; it wasn’t perfect since we didn’t win, but the team’s attitude, mentality, and ambition were all in line with what the manager had requested of them.

“Details can sometimes make or break a game. Although losing is not ideal, I believe we can learn a lot from this contest.
