According to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, should Manchester United center-back Arthur Theate (23) decide to quit the team, Stade Rennais may want to sign Victor Lindelöf (29). According to L’Équipe, Liverpool and Fulham are interested in Belgian center-back Theate, who only recently joined Rennes last summer. Between now until the end of the transfer window, both teams are hoping to add a left-footed center defender.
However, according to Foot Mercato, RB Leipzig have initiated contact. According to reports, the Bundesliga team is apparently offering a loan deal with a €30 million option to make it permanent. If Theate were to depart the Breton club, Lindelöf would be a possible successor.
However, any deal could be complicated. The Swedish centre-back is happy at Manchester United, and he is considered a key player by Erik Ten Hag. The Dutch coach, therefore, has no intention of letting Lindelöf leave this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
