“I left Manchester United because of them. I almost ended my career because of it. But I still love Manchester United. So if Amorim wants me, Me must make sure he does this things before I come. If not I will other club”-BREAKING NEWS as Angel Gomes the real reason he couldn’t continue playing for Manchester United has made his feelings clear on Premier League if Amorim does what he wants him to do.

Angel Gomes has hinted at his future in club football amid ongoing links to a Premier League return.

The 24-year-old, a former Manchester United academy graduate, left his boyhood club in 2020 seeking regular first-team opportunities after making just ten senior appearances. He joined French side Lille, where he has since made 118 appearances and scored eight goals.

Recently, Gomes earned his first call-up to the senior England squad, debuting in a 2-0 victory over Ireland—becoming the first player since 1992 to represent England while playing for a French club. He made a second appearance during England’s 2-0 win over Finland, receiving praise for his performance at Wembley.

According to The Sun, Gomes is now on the radar of three major Premier League clubs—Liverpool, Newcastle, and Tottenham—as well as German powerhouse Borussia Dortmund. With his contract set to expire next summer, Gomes could sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in January.

Gomes himself has hinted at a possible return to English football. In a November 2022 interview with L’Equipe, he said, “Do I imagine myself coming back one day? Obviously, it’s home. I would love to come back. But you never know in football. I just have to keep my feet on the ground, and keep playing, making the most of it. I can’t predict what will happen in the future.”

The Sun also reports that Newcastle might make a January bid to secure Gomes ahead of their rivals.

England interim manager Lee Carsley has praised Gomes for his attitude and football intelligence, noting his deep interest in tactics and keen knowledge of players across various leagues. “He loves football, watches football, and he’s always ready to provide feedback on sessions or discuss tactical setups,” Carsley remarked, highlighting Gomes’s analytical approach to the game.
