Erik ten Hag has taken on a new role during Euro 2024 to stay active.

Despite Manchester United’s eighth-place finish in the 2023/24 Premier League season, Ten Hag will continue as their manager following a season-end review. His tenure was bolstered by a surprising FA Cup victory over local rivals Manchester City, influencing Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s decision to support the Dutch manager.

INEOS, owners of Man United, had explored other options like Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino but have reaffirmed their confidence in Ten Hag.

Nevertheless, Ten Hag is set to expand his activities this summer by appearing as a pundit during Euro 2024, which kicked off recently.

According to social media announcements, Ten Hag will debut as a pundit on Dutch television for England’s match against Serbia on Sunday night. England enters Euro 2024 as favorites, seeking redemption after their penalty shootout loss to Italy in the 2020 final.

Having managed in the Premier League for two seasons, Ten Hag offers a unique perspective on English football. With two Manchester United players included in England’s final 26-man squad, he is expected to discuss their prospects in the tournament.

Luke Shaw, pivotal for England in previous tournaments but plagued by injuries last season, was included in Gareth Southgate’s squad, with Ten Hag possibly updating fans on his condition ahead of the Serbia match.

Additionally, Kobbie Mainoo, who flourished under Ten Hag’s management in 2023/24, could play a crucial role in England’s midfield lineup, alongside Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham. The third midfield spot remains contested by Trent-Alexander Arnold, Conor Gallagher, and Mainoo.
