We need to improve in all areas with players like Mbappe and Vinicius, not NOT Sancho. We already have his replacement who has already agreed to join Manchester United. Trust me, he is an amazing winger”-Erik ten Hag breaks silence on Jadon Sancho’s returns as he reveals that Manchester United could make “formal approach” for £34m wonderkid after holding talks with Jadon Sancho’s replacement.

Manchester United are reportedly considering a formal approach for a wildcard option ahead of a busy summer transfer window.

While the Reds’ immediate focus is on their FA Cup final against Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, where Erik ten Hag’s side has a chance to end a difficult season on a high note, attention will quickly shift to preparations for next season once the final whistle blows at Wembley.

Significant changes to the playing squad are anticipated, particularly in defense following the announcement of Raphaël Varane’s departure. Additionally, the midfield will require attention with potential departures of players like Christian Eriksen and Casemiro.

According to AcademyScoop, United have already initiated talks with the representatives of Désiré Doué, a promising 18-year-old French player currently with Ligue 1 side Rennes. Doué is a versatile attacking player who can operate in the midfield or on the wing. He featured in 42 games for Rennes during their 2023/24 campaign and has attracted interest from several top clubs.

The report indicates that Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal are also keen on Doué, but Manchester United might make a formal approach soon, with INEOS eager to secure his signing and avoid losing out to competitors. French outlet Ouest France adds that Rennes are open to selling the young talent this summer and are seeking offers between £34-42 million.

Doué, who has two years remaining on his current contract, came through the youth ranks at Rennes and is considered one of their most promising talents.
