The future of Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has taken an unexpected turn due to Thomas Tuchel. Recently, Fernandes has been linked with a move away from Manchester United, with speculation intensifying about his next destination.
Reports suggest that clubs in Saudi Arabia are eyeing moves for four Premier League stars, including Fernandes, Casemiro, Alisson Becker, and Ederson. Additionally, Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly urged Al Nassr to sign Fernandes from United this summer.
According to Caught Offside, Fernandes could be a target for German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window. German journalist Christian Falk reported that the current Bayern coaching team admires Fernandes for his character and style of play. However, there is internal debate among Bayern’s management about where Fernandes would fit into the current squad, a discussion contingent on Tuchel remaining at the club.
Recent weeks have seen speculation about Bayern’s plans with Tuchel, but the coach announced on Friday that he will leave the Bavarian club after this season. Tuchel stated, “This is my last press conference at Säbener Straße. There were talks, but we didn’t reach an agreement, so the decision of February still stands.”
This development could be positive news for United fans, as Tuchel’s departure might diminish Bayern’s interest in Fernandes.
In October, Fernandes reflected on playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. He expressed his admiration, saying, “Do I have the notion that I’m playing alongside a history maker? No, I don’t have a notion, I have the certainty! We’re all aware of it. The impact Ronaldo has had on Portuguese football and the opportunities he created for future generations are immense. It’s been a privilege to watch and play alongside him.”
