“It’s very obvious that he would be sacked after what he said. He is one of the worst coaches I have ever see. How could any coach do that after loosing a game?”-Erik ten Hag branded ‘deluded’ after comments made on the back of Ma Utd’s defeat by Fulham

Erik ten Hag faced criticism for his remarks following Manchester United’s defeat against Fulham, with fans labeling him as delusional.

United’s unbeaten streak in 2024 came to an abrupt halt with a dramatic loss to Fulham at Old Trafford. Despite Harry Maguire’s late equalizer, Alex Iwobi’s stoppage-time goal secured a memorable 2-1 victory for the visitors.

Following the match, Ten Hag praised the team’s resilience, stating, “The team showed big character to fight back, we deserved the equaliser and went for the win – we showed big personality and character.” He also emphasized the importance of considering the bigger picture, asserting that it looked promising.

However, Ten Hag’s remarks did not sit well with United fans, who expressed their discontent on social media. Some labeled him as delusional, criticizing his assessment of the match and the team’s performance.

Defender Harry Maguire acknowledged the team’s naivety in the match, admitting that they may have been too aggressive in pushing forward, leading to vulnerability on the counterattack. Despite the setback, Maguire expressed confidence in the team’s ability to bounce back.

United will have an opportunity to redeem themselves when they face Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup at the City Ground on Wednesday night.
