Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing a move for two of Manchester United’s star players if their plan to sign either Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland falls through.Real Madrid are a club who have always looked at signing the absolute best of the best, even if that comes at the expense of Manchester United.Los Blancos have famously taken both Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham off the hands of Sir Alex Ferguson in the past and are reportedly lining up a similar swoop.
According to Madrid-based outlet DefensaCentral, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez and other “higher-ups” have told chief scout Juni Calafat to keep tabs on Rasmus Højlund.
The La Liga club view him as a reliable ‘Plan B’ if they are unable to sign Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland.Beyond this, Fichajes state that Real Madrid are also keeping a watchful eye on Alejandro Garnacho, with this pursuit also being headed up by Calafat.
It is explained that Madrid want to add the 19-year-old to their attacking ranks, with Garnacho having had previous experience in Spain playing for Atletico Madrid’s youth academy before joining United in 2020.Garnacho and Højlund have begun to form a brilliant partnership under the guidance of Erik ten Hag, and it would take a behemoth amount of cash to prize either player away from Old Trafford, let alone two.
