“No other player ever those that but he keeps doing it which made everyone confused. He is a young star but he keeps doing what we don’t expect from him”-Why Kobbie Mainoo is refusing to use car park at Man Utd with Erik ten Hag copying Sir Alex Ferguson tactic which shocked the fans

Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo is refusing to use the first-team car park at the club’s training base in Carrington, according to a report.Born in the Greater Manchester borough of Stockport, Mainoo is the latest product from Man United’s famed academy and scored his side’s winner against Wolves in dramatic fashion. He gave a composed post-match interview following his starring role in Man United’s 4-3 victory at the Molineux on Thursday. The 18-year-old was a key part of Man United’s Youth Cup-winning squad last year alongside fan favourite Alejandro Garnacho.

Garnacho’s career has flourished since becoming a mainstay in the first-team and Mainoo will be hoping he can follow in the Argentine international’s footsteps. However, he isn’t getting carried away and according to a recent report in the Manchester Evening News, his feet are firmly on the ground. The youngster even continues to use the main car park at Carrington rather than driving around to the first-team car park, while also continuing to live with his parents.

Manager Erik ten Hag is closely managing his development and is copying a tactic previously used by Sir Alex Ferguson on a young Ryan Giggs in the nineties.

Man United are withholding Mainoo from media activities – a similar tactic Ten Hag used for Garnacho, who only recently completed his first external interview.Legendary manager Ferguson did the same with Giggs in his first few years in the United first-team with his first interview being for the BBC in 1994.

It seems to be working so far for Mainoo and if he continues to perform when given opportunities, Ten Hag will it difficult to leave him out.In a recent interview, the Dutch boss said: “When you are good enough, you are old enough and he proved that. When he gets used more often in those games, he will get even more joy from it.”
