Following an investigation by the club, it was confirmed that Greenwood will continue his playing career, but away from United and would leave Old Trafford. He has since headed to Getafe and scored five goals in 19 games in all competitions for the Spanish side.Greenwood was in action for Getafe today as they took on Osasuna in La Liga at the Estadio El Sadar in Pamplona, in which the hosts won 3-2

The last time these sides met back in September, Greenwood was subjected to brutal chants from the travelling Osasuna fans on his Getafe debut, calling for the player to ‘die’.

At that time, Osasuna boss Jagoba Arrasate condemned chants, which included both ones from his own fans directed at Greenwood and Getafe supporters’ response.

He said: “The chants of ‘F**k Osasuna’ were very bad and the chants against Greenwood were very bad too.

“He is a player who, in the end, the justice system had its say.“He is a very good player. But if we talk about chants, we should talk about all the chants, not just some.”In this afternoon’s encounter, Greenwood faced Osasuna once more, but this time around he was not subjected to chants like he was the previous time. However, he was booed by the home supporters throughout the encounter, suggesting there is still a degree of animosity towards the United loanee.

Greenwood’s United deal runs until the summer of 2025, with the option of an additional 12 months
