Five players, including recent additions Rasmus Hojlund and Altay Bayindir as well as newcomers Sergio Reguilon and Altay Bayindir, have been given squad numbers by Manchester United. Hojlund joined in early August in a £72 million trade, but he has been healing from an injury. He has been assigned the No. 11 jersey and is scheduled to make his Premier League debut on Sunday against Arsenal.Due to injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, Reguilon has transferred from Tottenham to United on a one-year loan to fill the left-back position. For United, the Spaniard will don the No. 15 jersey.
Bayindir signed from Fenerbahce following the departure of Dean Henderson to Crystal Palace. He will play second fiddle behind Andre Onana, but has been given the No1 shirt which was previously occupied by David de Gea at Old Trafford.Evans joined up with United in pre-season after being released by Leicester. He signed a one-year deal on deadline day after impressing Erik ten Hag and has taken the No35 shirt for the 2023/24 season.
Finally, Garnacho has changed his number from No49 to No17 after becoming a regular in the first team for Ten Hag’s side. The young Argentine winger takes the No17 shirt following the departure of Fred.United will announce the squad number for Amrabat once his registration is completed following his loan move from Fiorentina.
The Morocco international joined the club for a £8.6m loan fee with an option to make the deal permanent, which would cost £17.1m plus £4.2m in add-ons.Speaking about Reguilon in his pre-match press conference, Ten Hag said: “He is a very experienced player, a player for big clubs, a player that’s played already a lot of games in La Liga, in the Premier League.
