Man Utd target addition fifth signing after Rasmus Hojlund and Sofyan Amrabat transfers with the aim to with the League.

Along with signing Rasmus Hojlund and Sofyan Amrabat to new contracts, Manchester United is putting more emphasis on sales.

In addition to the likely additions of Rasmus Hojlund and Sofyan Amrabat, Manchester United is anticipated to pursue the acquisition of a backup goalkeeper in the closing stages of the summer transfer window. In an effort to strengthen Erik ten Hag’s assault, the Red Devils are presently prioritizing a move for Atalanta forward Hojlund and have now made their initial verbal offer for the 20-year-old frontman.

In the previous few months, when United encountered numerous hurdles in their efforts to seek alternative targets, signing a new No. 9 has not been without its difficulties.

Tottenham have simply no interest in doing business with United for Harry Kane while the Red Devils have so far been priced out of swoops for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Randal Kolo Muani.

Now Hojlund is top of United’s shortlist and there is cautious optimism a deal can be struck despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Should United get the signing of the Dane over the line, it’s thought they could turn attention to Fiorentina’s defensive midfield lynchpin Amrabat.

Amrabat is heavily expected to leave La Viola this summer after being left behind for the club’s pre-season trip to Serbia where they were defeated 5-0 by FK Crvena Zvezda on Thursday evening.

United have been tentatively linked with the player for several weeks but it’s understood their interest will only become more concrete once they have signed Hojlund and secondly, offloaded some fringe players within their current squad.

Galatasaray are pushing to sign Fred and have already seen one bid rejected by the Red Devils but talks are set to continue.

But outside of Hojlund and Amrabat, United also need to give their goalkeeping setup a revamp with Dean Henderson expected to follow David de Gea out the door.

Henderson is being targeted by Nottingham Forest where he spent last season on loan and there is a highly likelihood that he will complete a permanent switch to the City Ground.

United have already shown interest in signing Urawa Red Diamonds goalkeeper Zion Suzuki to bolster their ranks.

However, with the Olympics coming up, the 20-year-old Japan international has opted to remain with his current club for the upcoming season, snubbing a dream move to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have also looked at signing Fenerbahce shot-stopper Altay Bayindir this window.

Furthermore, Tom Heaton has attracted interest from Luton Town and could potentially be allowed to move later in the window if reinforcements arrive.

Ten Hag has made it clear he wants to keep competition for places high between the sticks and Andre Onana will require a deputy if Henderson does indeed join Forest.

Justin Bijlow is another name that has been considered by the Dutchman is currently Feyenoord’s No.1 is unlikely to trade regular football for a spot on the bench at Old Trafford.

United will continue to scout the market for opportunities between the sticks and it’s almost a certainty that they land another goalkeeper before the September 1 transfer deadline.
