Morocco manager Walid Regragui has already ‘revealed’ Soyfan Amrabat will leave Fiorentina amid interest from Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag has identified Amrabat as a potential target this summer after reportedly agreeing personal terms with the 26-year-old on Monday.
The Morocco international, who helped lead his country to the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar, could become United’s second signing of the transfer window after Mason Mount.
The Red Devils agreed a £60 million deal with Chelsea for Mount last week which includes a potential £5million in performance related add-ons.
The England international was at Carrington for his medical on Monday as Ten Hag seeks to strengthen his midfield.
And Amrabat could be next up on the list, with the Old Trafford outfit having allegedly reached an “economic agreement” with the industrious midfielder.
It is thought that Fiorentina would want at least €30 million (£26 million) to part ways with their prized asset to avoid losing him for free next summer when his contract expires.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils are reportedly willing to double his current €37,000-a-week salary, with Ten Hag keen to reunite with Amrabat after previously working with him between 2015 and 2017 at FC Utrecht.
And in a boost for the United boss, he has been tipped to leave Fiorentina soon.
Amrabat expected to leave Fiorentina
Amrabat was not included in Morocco’s squad for June’s Africa Cup of Nations qualification games.
Explaining the reason behind his absence, the Atlas Lion’s manager Regragui explained: “I decided to let him leave the national team camp… he won’t play [against South Africa]. He’s already played a lot of games this year.”
Meanwhile, he let slip that Amrabat would be moving clubs soon.
“I wouldn’t want to risk him getting injured, especially as he’ll be signing for a new club soon,” Regragui added.
