Man Utd youngster Amad Diallo left Erik Ten Hag in doubt with his classless reaction after missing out on top award.

Amad Diallo, a winger for Manchester United, tweeted an impolite message after losing out on the top prize at the EFL end-of-season awards ceremony on Sunday. While on loan at Sunderland in the Championship this season, Diallo has excelled as his team fights for a playoff berth and potential promotion to the Premier League. The Ivory Coast international was up for the EFL Championship Young Player of the Season award, which went to Bristol City’s Alex Scott and Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney.Scott has excelled this year, joining a distinguished club of prior champions that includes Jude Bellingham, Ollie Watkins, and Gareth Bale.

Diallo responded to the snub shortly after on Twitter. What did he say?Posting after the game, he said: “Young player, who?” followed by a pair of laughing emojis. His replies were flooded with Bristol City fans who were quick to defend Scott by posting pictures of him. The Bristol Post also described his response as classless.

Diallo has scored 12 goals in 35 league appearances for The Black Cats this season and his impressive form has led to calls for him to return to United and fight for his spot in Erik ten Hag’s team.He moved to Old Trafford in 2021 for £19m from Italian side Atalanta but has only featured nine times, scoring one goal.

The Red Devils aren’t short of options going forward so it would be difficult for the 20-year-old to break through.

However, this is his second loan spell in the past year so he could become frustrated if he’s not given an opportunity at United. It’s clear he has a lot of talent that United would be foolish to ignore, but he’s yet to prove himself in the Premier League.Whilst he could offer good competition and push the likes of Antony, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho a loan spell at a club in the top flight would be a logical move.If Sunderland get promoted then there seems to be no reason he couldn’t remain there for another season.
