Manchester United are eyeing Van Axel-Dongen. The Ajax youngster’s contract expires in June and he is set to join the Mancunian outfit on a free transfer, where he will be reunited with Erik ten Hag, the coach who gave him his first-team debut.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Mancunian side are keeping a close eye on Van Axel-Dongen, who will be a free agent after the end of the current season with Ajax in the Eredivisie.
Erik ten Hag knows him well. The Red Devils boss gave him his first-team debut when he was in charge of the Dutch club, just before he left for Manchester to take over from the sacked Solskjaer.
In the last game played he played with the Amsterdam reserve team, the striker scored a goal and played a part in two other goals providing an assist. All this in 58 minutes of play.
