Manchester United have been reportedly scouting AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham on a regular basis, with Aston Villa and Everton also interested in signing the England international.According to the Athletic, the Red Devils have made consistent trips to Italy to watch the former Chelsea attacker as Erik Ten Hag looks to go big this summer on signing a new striker for United, with the Manchester giants seemingly honing on Abraham.As per the report, Chelsea have a £71m option and first refusal to sign Abraham, though this is currently an unlikely situation given that the Blues are due to welcome Christopher Nkunku to the club this summer, opening the door for United to swoop in for the Roma attacker.
The Red Devils aren’t alone in their interest for Abraham, though, with iNews recently reporting that Villa and Everton are currently the two leading clubs to sign the 25-year-old attacker, who could be set for a return back to England this summer if Roma miss out on a UEFA Champions League spot.
Moreover, with Abraham scoring just seven goals in all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s side, the forward himself could be open to coming home this summer and playing for a club where he will receive the best service possible on and off the pitch, which could make United favourites to land the striker.Indeed, whilst Everton and Villa have great cases on their own as to how they could recruit Abraham, United’s pull and incredible progression under Ten Hag makes the Red Devils as dangerous an opponent in the transfer window as they have been in recent years.

Abraham ticks a lot of boxes for what Ten Hag wants in a striker, and with the forward teasing a move back to England, United could go all out to sign the Three Lions international and bring the striker to Manchester, much to the dismay of both Everton and Villa.After all, both Premier League sides are in need of a new leading striker, and given how well Abraham would have suited the likes of Sean Dyche and Unai Emery’s styles, United’s stature makes the Red Devils a clear favourite to win this transfer race this summer.
