BREAKING NEWS:Troy Deeney says Man City have a ‘world-class’ player who is even better than Kylian Mbappe-mbappe is no where to be compared with him, Mbappe only has sprint but is not compared to him, he’s Manchester city greatest of all time 😳😳😳

Since his breakout season with AS Monaco in 2016/2017, Kylian Mbappé has consistently impressed for both club and country. At just 25, the Real Madrid star has already won many of football’s most prestigious trophies, barring the UEFA Champions League and the European Championship, cementing his place as one of the best forwards of his generation.

However, since Erling Haaland’s rise, particularly after his move to Borussia Dortmund, Mbappé has often been compared to the Norwegian striker. Craig Burley described Haaland as “world-class,” a term also frequently applied to Mbappé, sparking ongoing debates over who is superior.

Troy Deeney recently weighed in on the debate, ranking Haaland as the best striker in the current Champions League, with Mbappé in second place. On CBS Sports, Deeney praised Haaland: “Without a doubt, number one. He has everything — youth, ability, hunger, and the desire to score. Physically, he’s a specimen, and a good-looking chap too. Number one for me.”

Regarding Mbappé, Deeney remarked: “That’s why you leave number two open.”

Other football figures have also voiced their opinions. Barcelona’s Marc-André ter Stegen claimed that while the gap between Haaland and Mbappé is small, he favors Haaland. Chelsea legend John Terry also sided with the Norwegian, while Fabio Capello argued that Mbappé is a “better footballer” with superior technical skills.

This season, as both players operate in similar roles—Mbappé as a striker for Real Madrid and Haaland leading the line for Manchester City—the comparisons have only intensified. Fans and pundits are watching closely to see if Mbappé can match or surpass Haaland’s goal tally in his first season at Madrid.

As of now, Haaland has recorded 11 goal involvements, compared to Mbappé’s 10. In terms of goals, Haaland leads with 13 across all competitions, while Mbappé has 8. Notably, Haaland has scored just one non-penalty goal, while Mbappé has three.

Given these stats and recent performances, it’s hard to disagree with Troy Deeney’s assessment that Haaland has been the superior number nine this season, especially when considering his current form.
