Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has reportedly reached a personal agreement with Manchester United as talks continue over a high-profile summer move, according to Turkish journalist Serdar Çelikler.

Speaking on a podcast, Çelikler revealed: “Victor Osimhen has reached an agreement with Manchester United. But there is still the matter of negotiations between the clubs.”

The Nigerian striker, currently on loan at Turkish giants Galatasaray, has been in exceptional form this season, scoring 29 goals and providing six assists in 34 appearances across all competitions. His red-hot form has put him firmly on United’s radar as the Premier League club looks to bolster its attacking options.

United are reportedly prioritising the signing of a top-tier forward amid Rasmus Hojlund’s struggles this season. The Danish international has found the net just three times in the Premier League, and new head coach Ruben Amorim is said to be ready to move on from the young striker this summer.

While Osimhen is understood to have agreed on personal terms with United, negotiations with Napoli over a transfer fee are still ongoing. The 25-year-old has a release clause of €75 million (£63m), though reports suggest the Serie A side may be open to offering a discount.

Juventus also remain keen on Osimhen, but Napoli are reportedly unwilling to sell to a domestic rival — a factor that plays in United’s favour as they seek to wrap up the deal.

However, Osimhen’s desire to play Champions League football next season could influence the final decision. United’s ability to secure a place in Europe’s top competition may prove decisive in landing the striker. Should the move fall through, the club is said to be keeping alternatives like Liam Delap and Jean-Philippe Mateta in mind.

Turkish journalist Ali Naci Küçük previously reported that Manchester United have tabled a lucrative offer of £660,000 per week (before tax), which would make Osimhen the highest-paid player at Old Trafford.

“There’s a strong possibility Osimhen will leave Galatasaray, but no final decision has been made,” Küçük said. “Juventus and Manchester United have both submitted offers worth a net €20 million annually.”

Galatasaray are reportedly eager to keep Osimhen beyond the current campaign but are unlikely to meet his financial demands. The striker is believed to be requesting €15 million per year from the Turkish club — far beyond their wage structure.

Despite the mounting speculation, Galatasaray’s vice-president Ibrahim Hatipoglu remains hopeful: “Osimhen said Galatasaray will always be in his heart, even if he leaves in the worst-case scenario. But he didn’t say he would leave. We want him to stay.”

When asked about his future, Osimhen remained tight-lipped: “There are always rumours about me, of course. But I prefer to live in the moment. I am enjoying myself right now — both the club and my life here.”

Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan at the beginning of the season, with the Istanbul club covering €6 million of his €10–11 million annual salary while Napoli foots the rest. Whether his next step is Old Trafford remains to be seen — but one thing is clear: he won’t be short of suitors this summer.
