According to the rumors, Mourinho allegedly described Garnacho as a “ticking time bomb” and blamed him for Erik ten Hag’s downfall.
However, there’s a major issue with this story: It’s simply not true.
Debunking the Report
- Rúben Amorim is not Manchester United’s manager – Erik ten Hag is still in charge at Old Trafford. There has been no official confirmation of Amorim taking over.
- Mourinho hasn’t made any such statements – There are no credible sources linking him to these comments about Garnacho. The Portuguese coach is currently managing Fenerbahçe, and there’s no indication he has publicly criticized the young Argentine.
- Garnacho is not the reason for Ten Hag’s struggles – While Garnacho has had his fair share of controversies, including social media missteps, blaming him for United’s broader issues is a massive exaggeration. If anything, Ten Hag has shown faith in the winger, regularly starting him in key matches.
The Real Problems at Manchester United
Manchester United’s struggles this season aren’t because of one young player. The club’s poor recruitment, inconsistent tactics, injuries, and underperforming senior players have contributed far more to their difficulties than Garnacho’s behavior.
