Man City to splash €80m on ‘incredible’ West Ham star as Guardiola rebuild nears big first step-he is going to solve our attacking issues,I going to sell this player then brings him on January 😳😳

Manchester City are reportedly considering a major bid for West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus during the January transfer window.

Pep Guardiola’s side is keen on securing a long-term successor to Kevin De Bruyne, whose contract expires next summer. Although Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz remains their primary target, the German midfielder is reportedly close to extending his deal with Leverkusen, forcing City to explore alternative options.

According to Spanish outlet *Fichajes*, Mohammed Kudus has emerged as City’s next big target. The versatile West Ham player, capable of operating as both an attacking midfielder and a winger, is seen as a potential solution to Jack Grealish’s ongoing struggles on the left flank.

The report claims Manchester City are prepared to spend €80 million (£66.3m/$83.3m) on the 24-year-old, believing he possesses “incredible potential.” Kudus joined West Ham from Ajax in the summer of 2023 for £38 million and has since made 59 appearances, scoring 17 goals and providing eight assists.

West Ham reportedly value Kudus at £100 million, but his £85 million release clause, which becomes active next summer, could force them to consider substantial offers in January.

**Man City’s January Focus: Defensive Midfielder**

Despite the Kudus links, sources suggest Manchester City’s priority in January is signing a defensive midfielder rather than an attacking one. The club is currently enduring a poor run of form, losing nine of their last 12 matches, and now sits seventh in the Premier League, 12 points behind leaders Liverpool.

With Guardiola under increasing pressure, the board is prepared to back him financially in the January window. City remains in a strong position in terms of finances and compliance with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules, despite the ongoing investigations into alleged breaches.

TEAMtalk reports that City’s shortlist for a defensive midfielder includes Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich, Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, and Atalanta’s Ederson.

Although Kudus is admired by City, a move for the Ghanaian international may depend on their success in strengthening other areas of the squad in January.
