“The context is tough because we need to win games, and we’re in a challenging situation. I consider everything—the way players eat, how they dress for games—everything matters. I evaluate all of it before making my decision.

“After the final training session, I communicated with them. They were fine. They trained this morning, and I was there—they trained really well.”

In Rashford and Garnacho’s absence, Mason Mount and Amad Diallo started on the wings for United. While Mount had to leave the pitch early due to injury, Diallo emerged as the standout player. He won the penalty that Fernandes converted to equalize and then netted the winning goal just minutes later, capping off a stellar performance.
