BREAKING NEWS:Manchester City to SELL summer signing, in bid to re-energise squad: reports, this six players is going to leave Manchester city confirmed by city board,You won’t believe which players are said to be included 😱😱

The champions have faced a challenging season, losing Rodri to an ACL injury in September and struggling in the absence of the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner. Pep Guardiola recently endured a seven-game winless streak across all competitions—the longest of his managerial career.

January promises to be a busy month for Manchester City as they aim to bring in reinforcements to remain competitive. However, a potential high-profile departure could draw as much attention as any new signing. City have faced growing criticism in recent weeks, with many attributing their struggles to an ageing squad.

Several of Guardiola’s key players are now over 30, including Mateo Kovacic, John Stones, Bernardo Silva, Ederson, and Kevin De Bruyne. Club captain Kyle Walker, now 34, is seen by some as nearing the end of his top-level career. Another veteran under scrutiny is Ilkay Gundogan, also 34. A key figure in City’s success during his initial spell at the club, Gundogan joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2016 as Guardiola’s first signing. After helping City secure the Treble, he departed for Barcelona in 2023 but returned to Manchester on a free transfer over the summer.

Despite being ranked eighth in *FourFourTwo’s* list of the world’s best central midfielders, Gundogan has struggled to replicate his previous form. Reports from *InterLive* suggest that Guardiola is planning a “technical revolution,” with Gundogan likely to leave for a second time. Inter Milan are reportedly interested in signing the German midfielder, seeing him as another potential free-transfer coup. The Serie A club has previously capitalized on free agents like Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Stefan de Vrij, and Marcus Thuram.

While *FourFourTwo* believes Gundogan still has the quality to play at a high level, his diminished physicality makes it challenging for him to thrive as a No. 6 in City’s current system. A move for Gundogan isn’t surprising, nor is Inter’s interest. Turkey may also appeal to the midfielder, given his heritage.

Gundogan is currently valued at €12 million, according to Transfermarkt. Meanwhile, City will look to regain momentum as they face Crystal Palace this weekend when Premier League action resumes.
