“Juventus director holds talks with Man City offering to sell midfield duo in January-BREAKING NEWS-Am friend to pep Guardiola,he has been helping me alot at my dark stages and now he’s passing a lot I will help him out by giving him this players on free transfer to boost his squad 😳😳

Manchester City may be gearing up for a busy January transfer window, with midfield reinforcements potentially on the agenda.

Back in September, Rodri suffered a season-ending knee injury during the first half of City’s 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium. The loss of the Ballon d’Or nominee has left a significant gap in Pep Guardiola’s squad, prompting him to hint at the possibility of signing a new midfielder when the transfer window reopens.

### Juventus Duo on City’s Radar

According to *Gazzetta dello Sport* (via *Sport Witness*), Juventus’ technical director Cristiano Giuntoli recently held transfer talks with both Manchester City and Manchester United. During these discussions, Giuntoli reportedly offered the two clubs the chance to sign midfielders Nicola Fagioli and Douglas Luiz in January.

Juventus are said to be open to selling the duo to raise funds for their own transfer targets, including a defender and a striker. Fagioli and Luiz have started just six Serie A matches between them this season, which may explain why Juventus are willing to part ways with them.

### City’s Familiarity with Luiz

One of the two players, Douglas Luiz, is already a familiar name for City. The club initially signed the Brazilian in 2017 before selling him to Aston Villa in 2020.

At Villa, Luiz established himself as a key player, scoring 22 goals and providing 24 assists in 204 appearances across all competitions. This summer, he made a move to Juventus but has struggled for game time, starting just two of the nine matches he has featured in across Serie A and the Champions League, partly due to recent fitness issues.

If Luiz regains full fitness by January, he could emerge as an attractive option for Guardiola. With his Premier League experience and familiarity with City’s playing style, the 26-year-old could slot into the squad seamlessly and help fill the void left by Rodri.

### A Key Month Ahead

City have a challenging run of fixtures before the transfer window opens, but their potential interest in Luiz—or other midfield targets—could be pivotal in ensuring they maintain their title push and Champions League ambitions in the second half of the season. The coming weeks could see the Manchester club make significant moves to bolster their squad.
