Pep Guardiola has stated that he still needs time to decide on his future with Manchester City as his contract enters its final months. His current deal runs until the end of the season, and while he has expressed interest in leading the team in the Club World Cup next summer, his long-term future remains uncertain.
There has been speculation that this could be Guardiola’s final season at the Etihad, but the club remains hopeful of keeping him. Despite the uncertainty, the players show no signs of fatigue under Guardiola’s leadership, with the team currently unbeaten after 11 games this season.
Speaking on the Italian TV show *Che Tempo Che Fa*, Guardiola said, “Let’s see about my future. I still need to reflect and decide what I want to do.”
If he stays, Guardiola will face a new dynamic next season as City’s long-time sporting director, Txiki Begiristain, will be stepping down. Hugo Viana is set to take over after a transition period where both will work together.
Guardiola’s relationship with Begiristain, which dates back to their successful time at Barcelona, has been key to City’s achievements. However, the sporting director’s departure has not been a decisive factor in the manager’s decision-making about his future.
