Reporter Sami Mokbel suggests that Villa could be more open to selling Ramsey next summer. By then, the 23-year-old will have just two years remaining on his contract, and this contractual situation might tempt the Midlands club to entertain offers to avoid him entering his final year.
Such a scenario would likely reignite interest from North London, as both Arsenal and Tottenham reportedly explored the possibility of signing Ramsey last summer. Mokbel notes that Ramsey remains on the “long-term recruitment lists” of several top clubs, potentially leading to a bidding war in 2025.
Villa’s valuation of Ramsey has varied in past reports, with figures ranging from £30 million to as high as £50 million. Multiple suitors could drive his price up, should the club decide to cash in. However, there is still a possibility that Ramsey could stay at Villa for the long term, provided he and the club reach an agreement on a new contract extension.
Ramsey, capable of playing in various midfield roles, would be a valuable addition to any team. While Tottenham showed more significant interest last summer, a proposed cash-plus-player swap involving Giovani Lo Celso did not materialize. Lo Celso returned to Spain with Real Betis, while Ramsey stayed at Villa, where he has featured in nine out of ten matches this season—missing only the recent game against Manchester United due to a groin injury.
