“Manchester City may return for one of Real Madrid’s superstar attackers in the coming months -BREAKING NEWs-as real Madrid star fall out with Carlo Ancellotti 😳 as Manchester city seeks for Julian Álvarez replacement 🔥🔥

Manchester City may make another attempt to sign one of Real Madrid’s star attackers in the coming months, following encouraging signals from the summer transfer window. The club is reportedly seeking a replacement for Julian Alvarez, who joined Atletico Madrid in a big-money move last summer, leaving Erling Haaland as City’s sole recognized striker for the season.

During the closing days of the transfer window, City explored options like Celtic’s Kyogo Furuhashi and former FC Copenhagen forward Orri Oskarsson. However, according to transfer insider Duncan Castles on “The Transfers Podcast,” City had initially set their sights on Real Madrid’s Rodrygo.

Castles revealed that City considered Rodrygo an ideal replacement for Alvarez and had even initiated discussions with him. At the time, Real Madrid was monitoring the possibility of Vinicius Jr. moving to the Saudi Pro League, which could have opened the door for Rodrygo’s departure. Rodrygo was reportedly open to the idea of joining City, who believed they could work out a deal with Madrid.

However, Madrid asked Rodrygo to hold off as they awaited Vinicius’s situation to resolve. When no moves materialized, Madrid chose to retain Rodrygo, whose role at the club remained significant. Despite this, City continues to view Rodrygo as their primary option for bolstering their attack, should Madrid reconsider in the future.

  1. With the January transfer window approaching, it’s uncertain whether City will renew their pursuit of an attacker, especially with defensive midfield becoming a priority following Rodri’s season-long injury. The club was first linked with Rodrygo toward the end of last season, particularly during their Champions League clash with Madrid. Although Rodrygo previously dismissed transfer rumors, City remains interested should the opportunity arise.
