Manchester United fans have expressed their ‘disgust’ at one of their own players following the release of new footage from their 3-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur.
Under Erik ten Hag, United suffered another heavy loss at Old Trafford on Sunday, with goals from Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski, and Dominic Solanke. The situation worsened when captain Bruno Fernandes received a straight red card for a foul on James Maddison, leaving United to play the entire second half with 10 men.
Fans were particularly angered by the opening goal, which mirrored a similar defensive breakdown during their recent 1-1 draw with FC Twente in the Europa League. In the lead-up to Johnson’s goal, left-back Diogo Dalot was marking the Spurs forward as he approached the penalty area. However, despite being in a good position, Dalot slowed down as they reached the 18-yard box, allowing Johnson a clear and unchallenged run to tap the ball past goalkeeper Andre Onana.
The footage of Dalot’s lack of urgency has sparked outrage among supporters on social media.

One fan tweeted: “I love you Dalot, but this is unacceptable. He can see his man, and he has the pace to close him down easily. What was he doing here?”
Another added: “I need an explanation from Dalot. If my 10-year-old didn’t follow his runner, I’d be worried about him.”
A third commented: “There’s a subtle difference. Mazraoui keeps checking the man behind him, while Dalot lets him run free. That could have been prevented.”
Another fan said: “For someone as fast as Dalot, this is unbelievable. He can see his man and anticipate a cross coming in. I can’t understand what he’s doing.”
A fifth supporter expressed their frustration: “This is blatant. I knew Dalot was at fault, but seeing the whole clip for the first time is just disgusting.”
