Juventus are reportedly willing to offer one of their key players to Manchester United in exchange for Mason Greenwood.

Greenwood’s future at United has been uncertain for over two years. The young English forward was arrested in January 2022 and charged with attempted rape and assault. Although Greenwood denied the allegations, the Crown Prosecution Service dropped the charges in February 2023.

Following an internal investigation, United loaned Greenwood to Spanish side Getafe for the 2023-24 season. He impressed in La Liga, scoring ten goals and assisting six more, earning the title of Getafe’s Player of the Season. United are eager to sell him this summer, but their reported £42 million asking price has deterred potential buyers, including Getafe.

Juventus, however, remain interested but are reportedly unwilling to meet United’s asking price. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian club may offer attacker Federico Chiesa as part of a swap deal for Greenwood.

Chiesa could be a valuable asset for Juventus to raise funds this summer. The Italy international’s contract expires in 2025, and he has yet to commit to a new deal with the Serie A giants. Any decision regarding Chiesa’s future will be made after the conclusion of Euro 2024. Juventus and Chiesa’s agent, Fali Ramadani, are expected to meet after the tournament in Germany. While Juventus would prefer to keep Chiesa, the final decision will rest with the player.

Lazio, Juventus’ Serie A rivals, are also interested in Greenwood, giving United another option for offloading the 22-year-old.
