Jurgen Klopp announced on Friday morning that he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, having ‘run out of energy’ at the Anfield outfit.

Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he does not intend to manage the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea or another English club once he leaves Liverpool. The German boss revealed on Friday that he will be leaving the Reds at the end of the season after ‘running out of energy’ in the Anfield dugout

In a shock announcement, Klopp revealed that he wanted to tell Liverpool supporters ‘the truth’ about his future and how he felt that he was running out of energy in Merseyside, despite leading the club to such an impressive start to the season.

The ex-Borussia Dortmund manager then explained that he does not intend on managing another club or country for at least a year, whilst also ruling out a return to the Premier League forever.He told Sky Sports: “I need to find a different purpose as well, I need to have a look for it. If you ask me ‘will you ever work as a manager again?’, I would say now, no. But I don’t know obviously how that will feel as I have never had that situation.

“But I know definitely, I will never ever manage a different club in England than Liverpool, 100 per cent. That’s not possible. My love for this club, my respect for this club, the people, it’s too big, I couldn’t for a second think about it, there’s no chance. This is part of my family, we feel at home here, there’s no chance to do that.

Will I work again? Of course, I know myself that I cannot just sit around but I will find something else maybe to do, but I will not manage a club or a country at least for a year. So that’s not possible, I cannot do that, and I don’t want to.”

Klopp then went on to reveal that he felt he had a ‘responsibility’ to make the decision over his future as he knew that his status at Liverpool meant that he was never truly at risk of being sacked.

Former Reds midfielder Xabi Alonso is a firm favourite to replace Klopp in Merseyside following his tremendous start to the season with Bayer Leverkusen. Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi and Al-Ettifaq boss Steven Gerrard have also been linked with the soon-to-be vacant position, with other candidates also expected to emerge towards the end of the season once the dust has settled on the news of Klopp’s departure.
